Current projects, include methods of constructing fine, designed bindings, print techniques and ways in which the book can be viewed within the context of the exhibition and the public / private collection.
Exploring the artist's book and creating three dimensional, extended book sculptures and formats.
Mark studied bookbinding at Guildford College of Technology, Japanese bookbinding and related subjects at ' Studio Livre' (Tokyo) and London College of Printing - B A Book Arts and Crafts (Hons)
Opening his first studio in his home city of Lincoln in 1992 and Studio Five, London in 2003. Mark works in fine contemporary bookbinding, book arts, printing and box making / art.
He teaches in Studio Five, the U K, Europe, the U S A, India and Japan.
Elected Fellow of Designer Bookbinders, member of The Society of Bookbinders, elected member of the Art Workers Guild, elected member of The Society of Designer Craftsmen,The Tokyo Bookbinding Club and part of the Bookbinders Collective. Mark exhibits internationally on a regular basis with his work represented in public and private collections worldwide.
